Room 2 were very busy working on their inquiry projects during Term 2. They were given a country competing at the Rio Olympics by lucky-dip and began researching and directing their own learning.

They were asked:
1) how they used their devices
2) what 'apps' they liked.
3) how the chromebook improved their learning
4) what was learning like before you had devices
5) what would improve your devices

Mr Langford was most impressed with the way in which our students articulated their learning and conducted themselves throughout the discussions.

Jandal Art in Ruma Rua
Bella has represented her whanau in flowers and the sun celebrates Tairawhiti - The first city to see the sun each day.
Johntay has used koru to show his whanau and the moon shines white above the blue ocean
Lucy has shown her family using a hearts and koru on one jandal and has depicted the sun and the sea to show her love of the ocean.
Cazaly has used koru to represent her whanau and the flag of New Zealand shows her pride in being a 'KIWI'

Friendship Soup

The students in Room 2 arrived at school with bags of vegetables to make soup to share with our BUDDIES in Room 9. Quentin from Life Education joined us and so did many of our Teachers.

Room 2 butterfly hatching!
In Room 2 today we were lucky enough to see one of our butterfly cocoons hatch in a beautiful Monarch Butterfly! Miss Moore recorded this on timelapse so the video is moving faster than what it would in real life. The video is quite long so skip forward to 1:45, this is where the butterfly begins to hatch.
