Miss G can have a break... ("Thanks, Beth!")

We have been studying endangered species in Room 2 and Bethany created her very own Reading Olympics around Flatback Sea Turtles, which she shared with the class today! She oranised us into co-operative groups and was very clear in giving instructions and creating expectations.

Miss G was really proud of us all for not only trying our best, but also being respectful to Beth and helping make the experience fun, motivating, and easy to manage! Well done, guys.

55 Feathers fun!

Today we got the opportunity to spend some time learning with our friends in Room 6 and Room 14. We read the story, "Fifty-Five Feathers" by Ben Brown & Helen Taylor and then worked in our co-operative groups to create a feathered cloak for Gecko.

Room 6 helped us get started and Room 14 helped us finalise the last details for our final fashion show!

Miss G said that we were fantastic role models and she was so impressed with all the creative ideas and experimentation that went on in the class...! Thank you Room 6 and Room 14 for working with us.

ASSEMBLY!

Room 2 ran Senior Syndicate Assembly today, and we did an amazing job!

Miss G asked us what we wanted to share with the rest of our syndicate and we organised it all...

We sung "Tutira mai nga iwi" with Mrs Gear playing the guitar for us (Thank you, Mrs Gear!)...

Bethany, Levi, and Samara ran the assembly, and they were so supportive for the rest of us!

Jake and Matariki shared a slide-show presentation that they had created about Wolverines...

And we taught the "Bim Bum - Handclapping" song with our peers...

... they loved it!

Thanks to our crowd controllers, too, who kept a look out for positive behaviour and rewarded those people with a GOTCHA and the privilege to sit on the back row of chairs...

Well done, Room 2!

Spelling Place Names Phonetically

Yesterday in Room 2, we did challenge number 4, which was to spell place names in New Zealand phonetically.

Look at what we have come up with so far!

Our Tuesday I.T. Project!

We are really lucky in Room 2 to have so much whanau support. Today we had Morgan bring in a freshly-made loaf of rewena paraoa (traditional Maori bread), baked by her dad; which we shared for morning tea - YUM!

We also have Aiden's dad - Tony - coming in to work with us on a Tuesday morning. He is helping us to learn more about I.T. through videos and other media. Tony has created a website for our learning on a Tuesday morning where you can stay up-to-date with what we're up to. It is called,

Thanks, Tony!
